Wednesday, April 19, 2023 - Blackberry, cassis, dark cherry, red licorice, earth. I'm hoping this bottle was off, but the 14.8% alcohol was very noticeable.
4/19/2023 10:11:00 AM - These wines genuinely need around 10 years of cellar aging before they are in their prime drinking window. The 2019 is a baby and the alcohol and tannins will make the wine unpleasant to enjoy unless you decanted it for a day.
4/19/2023 6:03:00 PM - I agree. I had this on pop and pour at the winery in September and it was terrific. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s shutting down a bit. After a few months, they really do need time in the cellar to show their best. I usually start enjoying them about 8 years from vintage.
4/28/2023 9:43:00 PM - I've had a lot of young, ageable wines with heavy tannin and high alcohol, but this was one of few where the alcohol stood out beyond the tannin.
