Friday, March 15, 2024 - Rene Engel Dinner (Benoit Bistro, Manhattan): In close quality to the 2000. At a different point in its evolution and a wine of great concentration. Aromaticlly complex and hedonisticly giving. Like the 00, the tannin was resolved and the wine was elegant and giving. In contrast, however, one could tell that the concentration of the 90, the stuctural presence, was more robust. I think I have a slight preference for the more feminine 2000. Contender for wine of the night given.
