Friday, August 5, 2011 - Paul Hobbs Winemaker's Dinner (Paul Hobbs, Sebastopol, CA): I think Hobbs imported this at some point. In any case, he told a great story about working as a consulting wine maker in Hungary: how rustic and agrarian the region is, and how the tradition began dying under Soviet occupation and continues its decline today. This wine was a bit simple for my preference, not spicy or racy but rather a good companion for food. It paired well with the honey and white truffles accompanying the fromage.
