Sunday, June 6, 2021 - Dinner at home with Wendy and Alex. What a immense generosity from Alex for bringing such a marvelous wine. With 30+ years on record, only a slight bricking color on the rim, the 89 Palmer still carries an amazing vibrancy that's captivating to the palate and mind. Bottle breath for couple hours, and over the course of the dinner time the nose kept developing, sweet black fruits, earth, truffle, and wet cardboard (which then blew off), then tertiary nuances of old leather and matured cigar, amazing. Tannins have softened, seems to be at a sweet drinking spot at the moment. A true great wine!
