Saturday, February 17, 2024 - So I am an old world junkie and would much prefer Bordeaux, Burgundy, and N. Rhone to Napa wines. That said the first vineyard I ever visited in my lifetime is Pine Ridge 20 years ago back in February 2003. What I admire most about Pine Ridge is its consistency and commitment to its Stag’s Leap roots. What I love about Wine is its ability to transport you back in time and tap into memories of old. This wine did that for me tonight. Fruit forward, structured wine of creme de cassis, liquid blackberries, black as pitch color, plenty of toasted oak and vanillin. While my palate has evolved over the years, I’m thankful Pine Ridge stuck to its guns.
