Friday, November 6, 2015 - Perfectly stored bottle, since release.
Decanted and followed for 5 hours in the glass.
Nose with oak, red & dark cherries, blueberries, floral with violets, soil, a touch of Piemontese acetone and a slightly chemical soapy perfumed note.
Palate has creamy sweet fruit with dry berries, oak spices and some woodiness, touch herbs and dry & dusty soil.
Quite short and dry finish, thin and unexciting.
I had hoped for more, but Ratti is not really up there, albeit delivering solid mid class Barolos dispite some heavy oak handling.
This will not gain further from cellaring.
