Monday, August 12, 2019 - Checked in on this bottle and stand by my assessment from 2014 (pasted in below), particularly the Cahors-like description. It's a dark and masculine Barolo that's loosing some fruit now but picking up some bits of tertiary aroma. Has softened up considerably, turning a bit more tarry. Pleasurable bottle that might never hit its perfectly balanced place but definitely a happy quaff.

From 2014: Good wine overall. Dense and brooding with an almost Cahors-like weight and extraction. The wood is distinctly Barolo, and there is a good amount of it. Kinda a Parkerized bottle but 10 years might help with that? Not sure it will vastly improve but will let sit 5 years before checking in again.
