Saturday, May 1, 2021 - Hmm, I feel like this was opened either too early, or too late. Deep browny red. Deep dark woody nose too, palate has a glimpse of fruit, but then turns really tannic and dry... not sure, this might've been awesome in 2030, or else we opened it just before the last of its joy expired, hard to say which. If I had another bottle, I'd wait 5-10 years, with a reasonable expectation that it might have mellowed out. There does seem to be some decent material there to work with, notwithstanding what I suspect was overly aggressive winemaking. 89 but 91 on potential.
