Saturday, July 15, 2023 - I am a fan of this maker's wines and their Pinots especially. However, this does not cause a rising of the spirits, nor good movements down south.

Fairly dark red for Pinot, the nose and palate deliver an austere package of beetroot, weeds and compost and some slightly sour acid. Finish is quite long, intensity ok. There is the slightest hint, after two days open of darker fruits but you really have to go rooting about for them and it might just be desperation, a chimera.

I wouldn't write this off, because the maker has good form and that late hint of darker fruits makes me wonder if it just needs a lot of time. The signals are not clear enough for me.
