Thursday, June 3, 2021 - Deep garnet, very slight bricking at the rim. Concur with other recent notes: this is drinking very well. The nose has notes of baked clay earth, leather, and dark cherries. The palate is fresh and a touch glossy (is there some new oak here?), with an overall savory impression but lots of fruit remaining. The dusty tannins are in nice balance with the fruit, leading to a harmonious and satisfying finish. This will probably continue to evolve for another five years or so, but it's hard to imagine it will get better per se, just a little more mellow.
