Friday, February 2, 2024 - I’m not entirely sure what to think about Giacosa. I thought this wine was certainly enjoyable, and it exuded the Giacosa style I’ve become familiar with after tasting with devoted fans, but it didn’t blow me away at $200+. There was very pretty dark red fruit, and this was more elegant than one would expect from a 2019 Serralunga. I think my read on this would be, it doesn’t seem as bad as Galloni suggests these days, but it’s by no means a top Barolo.
