Monday, June 16, 2008 - the nose is so refined, so fresh and bright, with such well defined aromas of sweet citrus balm, wet stones, bloomy mushrooms, and earth. the wife thought this was a Burgundy! Round and smooth mouthfeel, there is underbrush, citrus, and bright minerals on the palate. there is something like a mellow salty broth on the finish. this wine is clean and fresh tasting, yet is offers a real soily/mushroomy maturity. so lovely to drink, if it were a person it would be an old matriarch at a southern hotel.
