Monday, September 18, 2023 - Root Day - Pop and pour for evaluation. Light lemon coloured in glass. Evocative nose emanating from the glass that can be noted from almost a metre away. Nose shows jalepeno, gooseberry, saline, and light citrus. On the palate the acidity is medium plus and it’s medium bodied. The palate flavours are round but sharp edged with gooseberry, citrus, salinity, light jalepeno and basil. The finish carries the jalepeno, salinity and gooseberry. Very different from the NZ style and is excellent in it’s own right.
