Friday, December 23, 2016 - Wow, what a nice surprise! I wasn't expecting too much from this last bottle. Rich, deep notes of cherry and cassis, much the same on the palate at first, but the killer touch is the strong second wave of jammified wild strawberry and forest fruits, before a crisp but profound finish. The fruit does drop away somewhat but the overall feel is luxuriantly powerful, in spite of the mere 12 degree alcohol - which perhaps explains why this tastes like an 82. The are countless 98s which are not up to this. Easily the best tasted from this producer. I see there are still a few left in CT cellars: it's hard to advise because of bottle variation but this one could have held for several years longer.
