Friday, March 21, 2014 - HDH auction tasting at Tru; 3/21/2014-3/22/2014 (Chicago, IL): Medium gold in colour. Very, very strong petrol and sulphur on the nose that just didn't seem to go away. A big in-your-face kind of wine that has a thick viscous texture. I found the acidity a bit lacking -- the wine comes off a bit corpulent. The palate has some sweet tropical fruit notes (I picked out mango). The palate has the concentration and extract that you'd expect but there isn't enough acidity to hold everything together.
