Friday, May 29, 2009 - hints of peach however as was clear to all a strong strong flavor of creme brulee permeates in the mouth. Only when tried side by side a different cuvee (Tarlant NV Cuvee Louis) did it become clear just how monolithic this Heidsieck is. Almost fatiguing actually. Is the problem one of overoaking the base wine? Slowly become clear to me that this is not my preferred style of champagne. I dont see where the rave reviews are coming from.
