Sunday, December 26, 2021 - Purchased from auction 12/21. Cork failed but the wine was in good condition. Didn't make notes at the time but, from recollection: colour starting to pale; fully evolved palate that was wonderfully complex; slightly reminiscent of a fine aged Bordeaux but with that Italian twist; barely a trace of tannin and fabulous balance; fantastic. The wine was ay its best in the first couple of hours of drinking and then I think I detected a slight fade, though still glorious. I think it would probably be wise to drink up in the next year or two.
