Thursday, August 6, 2009 - This is the way I like Ridge wine. These single vineyard wines need a good 7-10 years of age for me to really get to where I want them. Since I find that these can be a bit brash in their youthfulness I look for the claret style flavors that these wines can bring with age. This was tasty straight out of the bottle. A nice integration of dried cherry, baking spices, and vanilla with a structure that is still present but not forced. Lively acidity too. I am looking forward to drinking my last bottle soon.
