Monday, February 12, 2024 - deeply colored, ruby rim. on the nose deeply fruited with cassis, black cherry, some earthy soil/loam aromas, oak is in the background and feels like more old than new and more french than american. on the palate high acids, a very round and fleshy midpalate, finishes with a moderate amount of already well integrated oak tannin and moderate + alcohol. balanced wine with good length, very good intesnity, good complexity. wine has finesse, a very fined texture, and while doesn't scream rioja to me feels old world. for 15-20 this is really good wine... ripe, friendly, structured, balanced... drinks well now and will improve with short term aging over the nedt 3-5. most impressive
