Tuesday, September 29, 2020 - Going super strong!! This has aged incredibly well. Pronounced black currant kote on the nose very similar to the nose on the 2006 Carlisle Vineyard Zin consumed recently. A weather related note from 2006? A winemaking related note from this period at Carlisle? I don’t know, but it is of Cab-like intensity. Further, all the ‘usual’ zin goodness from Carlisle; brambly fruit, both fresh and candied, chocolate, creamy malo texture, zin-spice of cardamom, cinnamon and cloves. Another masterpiece from Carlisle. What happened to this vineyard? The back label says this was the last vintage. Too bad...

Man, that is so sad. I respect so much that Mike is doing his best to keep these sites and doing such a great job, but those that were lost, like this, with all it's potential, almost makes me weep
