Saturday, March 26, 2011 - I thought that this was the most unique tasting experience in the Willamette. a pole barn perched on the top of a on of the Dundee Hills surrounded by vineyard. The son of the vineyard manager conducted by tasting and I purchased several wines because each vineyard was distinctive. The Nekaia 2006 is brick red in color with a darker than usual color and normal weight. 3 The nose is classic Pinot a combination of dark cherry and mushroom earth and a lovely floral overtone. 5 The most important aspect of this wine revolves around its velvety texture, more weight than usual, with a moderate acidity and soft tannins and an extended sweet cherry finish. 6 Delicious, well made, breed but not pretentious. 3 I continue to enjoy this wine more than any other from my trip to Oregon with the exception of Archery Summit and Bergstrom. I have not tasted my Stevenson -Barrre wines. 17
