Saturday, May 30, 2009 - Popped and poured at Bouchon Santa Barbara. Accompanied our appetizers including Fois Gras which it paired perfectly with. Bright raspberry red in color. Fairly translucent in glass. Nose was filled with red berry aromas. Surprisingly open at this point, displaying gobs of berries with a bit of almost candy sweetness, but not over the top which is offset by a bit of heat/pepper. A little time should improve this but I don't expect it to be a long cellar wine.
