Cola notes are highly prominent on the nose, with notes of black cherry, spice and pepper. Spicy black cherry dominates the palate, with an undercurrant of citrus (orange rind) and cranberry. Acidity is too noticable and seems out of balance. Finishes a bit hot. Nonetheless, a fine wine that mellowed somewhat when paired with soft cheeses. KB generally is better, but for a seemingly off bottle, this wasn't bad.
