Tuesday, March 31, 2009 - Whilst clean and reasonably polished you feel that this wine is built on ‘old school’ sensibilities where the wine is but a conduit between the drinker and the microclimate from which the wine was born. Lovely, ethereal red berries (think raspberries and strawberries) gain in sweetness and intensity as the bottles contents disappear (rather rapidly I might add). There are some lovely fresh earth notes and the palate is compact with mouth-watering acidity and sneaky persistence. Chilled just under room temperature it was a revelation with the fresh flavours at Noosa’s Ricky’s restaurant on a muggy autumn day.
