Monday, June 6, 2011 - I initially thought this would be a bomb of of flavor and concentration. But the wine was actually very pleasant. Nose was generous after 1h decanting but got even more open as time passed by. No hints of development obviously. Some red fruit coming out but predominantly black fruit, dark chocolate- typical of a young wine. Palate brought relatively soft tannins, with live and fresh red fruits, which predominated over dark berries flavors- quite accessible. Structure was great; perfect balance. The wine is amazing right now. BUT, given the content, this could definitely develop desirable tertiary complexity that would bring this to a whole different (way higher) level. I'd not touch this for another 10 years if you really want to get the best out of it.
