Saturday, May 27, 2017 - Still interesting, even enjoyable in May '17. Murky (I didn't decant, used Coravin). Is certainly past its peak - leads with brittle, woody characteristics on the nose and initial palate. But follows up with some savory, old fruit - some brightness in there that lets you know this is California. Bob Klindt made astonishingly age-worthy wines wherever he found the grapes, and it's great to see that his eponymous vineyard has staying power in the hand of other winemakers. I liked this one enough to go back for a second glass.
