Sunday, August 27, 2017 - Fantastic, ultra-traditional Chateauneuf du Pape. There is absolutely no 98-heat here, none, this is cool-fruited with a wonderful, bright acidity, tobacco and garrigue notes in an upright, structured style. Opens up beautifully with air to show tertiary notes, this is mature but by no means past peak. Restrained and lighter in style, this is the way I like Chateauneuf du Pape.
