Monday, December 11, 2023 - This medium-to-deep ruby wine, sourced from multiple contracted vineyards throughout the Napa Valley, is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot that was aged for 10 months in French oak (30% new). Popped, poured and serially tasted over a three hour period, it offers moderately intense aromas and flavors of red bramble fruits, Montmorency cherries, baking spices and lavender. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic, lightly oaked and with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%), it wraps its flavors with a modicum of velvety tannins. Solid on the mid-palate and medium in length on the back end, this is a soft-textured, easy-drinking wine that would be well-received as a by-the-glass option at any holiday cocktail party. This is particularly true when one considers that it does not require significant aeration. Drink now-2028.
