Sunday, August 21, 2011 - A Burgnut's Burgundy; Very pure and airy, textbook Chambolle with soil tones, a hint of bitter cocao and very pristine red fruits. Seemingly light, but the greatness of the Terroir comes through on the sappy palate. Slightly crunchy acidity and completely rounded tannins give this medium-bodied wine a very elegant profile. While it's light, it doesn't lack for any flavor or persistence. Showing great right now, but the fruit is still quite primary. I don't expect any more volume, but further cellaring should bring some added complexity in the flavor department. Easily approachable today with a good amount of air.
