93 Points

Monday, April 30, 2012 - decanted for 24 hours (i have finally learned my lesson)
nose - blueberry, blackberry, coffee, wood varnish
mouth - a big mouthful of dark fruits all get crushed at once in mouth on the first sip. Whoa. Then nice tart blueberries on the midpalate, followed by big moutcoating tannins. This wine way over delivers. Am I reading into it too much or just flat out making stuff up but after missing the 90pt mark by the WA, Joan Simo Sentius decided to declassify their wine already in bottle and good old Cameron swept in to make this wine available for twenty buck a bottle, and later less than that on closeout (because, what?, people only wanted to buy cabs?) Oh my this is a fruit bomb with class, and life to go at least ten more years. I am going to have a mighty hard time keeping my hands off the remaining bottles. But seriously, do yourself a big favor and decant this for at least half a day.
