Saturday, July 14, 2012 - Served slightly chilled from restaurant cellar. Lots of dark fruit, still a good balance of tannins and acidity. Paired with two plates - duck served with raspberries, and ham served with black-eyed peas. Perfect with both plates. Ample fruit shone through with the berries and duck. The fruitiness of the wine also cut through the salty earthiness of the ham and beans. This is an excellent food wine. I need to get a bottle for sipping. My guess is that this wine will stand well on its own. Terrific American version of a CdP.
