Friday, April 19, 2024 - Joseph Phelps Vineyards Spring Release Event (Joseph Phelps Vineyards, Napa Valley): $262.50 futures, $375 retail. Enjoyed 4 pours today. Nose of mint, roasted black berry tarts, black currants, earth, chocolate, and lovely, rich cabernet fruit, same on the palate, big body, fruit forward, smooth, lovely, long finish, and a lovely aftertaste, wonder where the tannins were today (?), guess it needs 8 years to peak. Right after the 2012 Insignia pour this killed it.
