Friday, December 26, 2008 - Very closed and typical nose of chateauneuf with punchy currant notes. Medium bodied. Color - garnet. Slight rim. Cherries, raspberries and blackberries on the front pallet with a solid feel. Medium tannins. Currant on the back pallet. Slight citrus and vanilla on the nasal finish. Medium length finish. Over a 2 hour decant it lost some cherry and picked up more vanilla and the finish lengthened. Average Chateauneuf - would not restock given the price point, instead will look for better for just a few dollars more. 86
