Friday, February 11, 2022 - Drank at the Tam-O-Shanter. Very dark ruby with oak, baked plums, and forest floor on the nose. Medium bodied, with some nice depth and pronounced cooked plum, assorted red fruits, oak, and distant tobacco. Soft tannins, with a touch of acidity gave this a very nice rounded fluffy mouthfeel. Had alongside an 06' Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru by Francois Bertheau and in comparison the oak really stood out on the Boillot. Over time, it became integrated a bit more though, and it was quite enjoyable. Bertheau still won this round by unanimous decision.
