Friday, December 17, 2010 - Not decanted. Consumed over 2 hours of which the first hour is needed to find balance. Appearence is not very clear, but this is a phenomena i often find in aged rhone wines. Nose shows development with meaty and mineral notes and some cherry but only in the background. Lovely old-world styled nose, perhaps without real complexity. The taste is medium minus intense, with sour cherries, hints of leather and stony mineral. Tart decent finish. Very good wine that likely is at its peak or just past.
