Sunday, February 26, 2012 - Drank after a 3 hr decant with beef cannelloni. Dusty, rustic qualities on the nose; primarily fruit cake and aromas of violet. Medium-bodied, tannins rather firm on the finish. Strangely hollow. Sadly this was not a great wine; lacking vitality, structure, definition. Fruits not a match for the grainy rusticity. Dodgy bottle? Slightly past it?
