Sunday, August 18, 2013 - Poured into a glass and let breathe for about 45 minutes. Dark ruby red in color. An initially reticent nose opens to reveal a lower register notes of dusty red cherries, smoky herbs, leather and soil. A light to medium bodied palate reveals tart & sweet red cherry liquer, new saddle leather and evidence of light tannins on a smoky finish. The wine is still very young and needs time for the olfactory notes and palate to come into balance. 90+ points for potential to improve in the bottle.
