Friday, September 14, 2018 - 1989 Piedmont Retrospective (Cinghiale, Baltimore): Expressive nose displaying concentrated red and black fruit, black cherry, strawberry jam, licorice, mint, caramel, leather and limestone. Excellent concentration, generous amount of concentrated black fruit, dense yet silky, bright acidity, strong earthy mineral, still noticeable yet non obtrusive tannins and a long sweet black fruit driven finish. This is a big scale wine that will drinking beautifully for a couple more decades.
