Thursday, December 21, 2023 - Quite a transformation since last bottle I opened 12 months ago. This has come into much better balance. Medium body. Slightly browning robe. Heavy wood influence that is the only noticeable scent on the nose, and it dominates the palate but is integrating with the fruit, which is kind of a bramble berry mix. The one offputting note is a gooseberry/stinky tar note. Slightly tannic into the finish. Based on the improvement from 1 year ago to now, I believe this will be in a great spot with upside from my current rating in DEC 2024 and beyond. It’s enjoyable now however. Pair it with heavier food.
