Wednesday, February 9, 2011 - Dinner w/Nutty. A rich nose of lavender, menthol, incense, and jam. Very sweet palate with some blue fruits, vanilla, spice, and hints of minerality. Finish quite long and persistent. If served blind, I would not have pegged as WA as the wine did not have the necessary red fruit tartness and earth notes. The wine does maintain a very layered fruit profile with enough acidity to qualify as an excellent wine. Just not my style. For hedonists.
