Wednesday, June 20, 2018 - Served blind to us by Walter. Decanted a few hours before serving. Sort of reddish purple in color, with a sweet meaty leathery nose. On the palate, there is both dark fruit and lingering background complexities. Black currants, red raspberries and a hint of licorice along with some minerals and earth. Slight tannin, but there is just a sweet purity about this wine. Very nice finish. I'm guessing 2005 Bordeaux. Wrong as usual, but what a lovely wine. I'm feeling very fortunate to have a few of these in my own cellar.
