Tuesday, June 2, 2009 - This wine needs to be served with the right food. It goes with a brie, it goes good with mussels if you cook them with it. I was seduced at a wine tasting because my friend Marc Guizol (who owns a little restaurant that I used to work in the pantry called La Provence) paired it perfectly, so I bought a case. I have a little buyers remorse because the wine is a little flabby on its own, frankly. It's got citrus and papaya and honey, but it could use a little more acidity. Having said that, I had it with mahi mahi fish tacos with mango salsa, and loved it. And I'm really a red wine guy anyway so what the hey. But what that means is I usually aim for a stellar white when I drink them, and this is not.
