Thursday, October 7, 2010 - Deep red color. Lovely, refined bouquet of black currant, oak, tobacco, and graphite. In the mouth, restrained and layered, with impeccable balance. The black fruit and earthy, pencil lead layers take a back seat to the textural feel in the mouth. There is plenty of acidic and big-boned tannic structure, but the wine carries its weight without being heavy. The finish is long and pleasingly complex. Certainly built to age. A
