Friday, November 13, 2009 - From 375mL. Deep ruby core to a strawberry rim. Richly perfumed nose of baking spice, red currants, cherry, violets, geranium and cola, with undertones of licorice, mushrooms, sandalwood and vanilla. Soft though lofty oak. Bright acids, silken tannins and moderate alcohol are gently nudged by notes of cherry, black tea, white pepper, velvet rust, rhubarb, dried cranberry and bay leaf. Long, full finish. Rustic, semi-bitter, but intensely aromatic and masculine. Overpriced but quality. Would buy again.
