Friday, November 13, 2009 - IMedium garnet with a bit of bricking around the edges and a little bit cloudy. There is more sediment here than I expected and I was admittedly a bit sloppy pouring it out into the decanter. Some bright cherry on the nose mixed up with fig, balsamic, savory/earthy tones and a bit of brett. It's also showing some VA and I haven't been able to decided how I feel about that yet. Medium bodied, medium tannins, medium acid. Finishes up with earthy tones that stick around for a while. After a while in the decanter the fruit on the palate has become bigger, rounder, and softer, showing a little bit of currant. Pencil lead develops on the midpalate through the finish.
