Tuesday, May 7, 2019 - Decanted 2hrs. Very dark but clear ruby purple with perhaps just a hint of brick at the rim. Enigmatic but intriguing nose of warm ripe fruits and just a hint of Chinese five spice. On the palate, sweet and concentrated dark fruits with a slight gaminess. There's a rich bloody element to this wine with plenty of minerals and grippy tannins still. Really lovely wine. Started to dry out a bit on day two but whatever, this is really delicious and a step up from the Leoville Barton. Glad I've got 2 more.
