Saturday, December 26, 2009 - decanted 1/2 the bottle for 2+ hrs. strong dark berry nose, black currant, some pencil lead, light solvents. Taste is a little simpler, some cherries and grapes. Extremely tannic, which accentuates the alcohol, which seems bigger then the 13.5% it actually is. We enjoyed it enough that we cracked into the second 1/2, and the taste was a bit fruitier, so we probably decanted to long. Don't know much about this, but I'm assuming it's more merlot or cab franc then cab sauv....pretty tasty though, paired well with pasta bolognese, and a very solid QPR at only $13.
