Sunday, February 22, 2009 - Fresh and quite vivicious on opening. No off-putting heat red fruits, light meats and garrigue. Tannins uninhibiting and casual.
Put into the decanter 1/2 hour before drinking and it all went a 2 and 8!
Fruits got much darker definite blackcurrant, herbs came to the fore on the nose. On the palate the tannin became a bit awkward and rustic. Blackcurrant earthiness and a light dusting of spice. I must say a touch of austerity to it. The alcohol and acidity nicely balanced so feel and good length. Not the juicy wine I drank a year ago.
