Friday, May 21, 2010 - Popped and poured at Mickey Mantle's ... Great Zin-blend that is big but not over the top. A hint of sweet, but with a crisp, tannic backbone and some nice spice, all wrapped in a smooth package that's a pleasure to drink. Reminds me a lot of the '07 Orin Swift Prisoner vintage. Very well balanced wine with a complex palate (berry fruit, spice, and a hint of sweet) and long finish. Doesn't hurt that this one smells absolutely heavenly. ... Paired with blue cheese tomato salad, crab cake and smoked filet. Really nice anniversary dinner.
