Tuesday, April 28, 2020 - Decanted for 1.5 hours - quite a bit of sediment. Still very dark with no brown edges. Really nice blackberry aromas with some spicy meat and currant notes (presumably from the 36% Syrah component). On the palate, velvety cassis and black fruits with a little gaminess and leather that adds complexity. Relatively soft, savory slightly sweet finish with just enough tannic structure to hold up to food. This seems to be at peak - well stored bottles might last a few more years, but why wait! Enjoy the decadence now.
